MCS Registration

MCS Registration

MCS Registration – The Microgeneration Certification Scheme – provides assurances and accreditation of renewable energy systems, technologies and products as well as installers themselves.

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is internationally recognised and the MCS provides a global mark of high quality and competency on all products that meets a robust set of standards and rigorous testing.

The MCS also accredits installers of microgeneration technologies and assesses the supply, design and installation of renewable energy systems ensuring that the customer receives the correct solution for their needs. It is important that the your installer follows these standards and procedures are followed throughout the design, supply and installation to ensure this.

The Microgeneration Certification Scheme is also linked to further policies such as Feed in Tariffs, Boiler Upgrade Scheme, and other financial incentive schemes.

Spire Renewables are MCS accredited for the following technologies and renewable energy systems:

  • Air Source Heat Pump Systems
  • Ground Source Heat Pump Systems

All of our products, systems and technologies are approved under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme, which provides assurances on the quality and reliability of renewable energy technology.

As Spire Renewables are fully accredited under the Microgeneration Certificate Scheme Energy, our client’s can benefit from the following:

  • Feed-In Tariffs (FiT)
These tariffs provide guaranteed payments to households, communities and businesses that generate their own electricity through renewable sources. FiT also provides payment for any surplus renewable electricity that is sold back to energy suppliers.
  • The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)
This government funded scheme provides eligible property owners, in England and Wales, a £7500 grant towards the cost of the provision and installation of Air and Ground Source Heat Pumps. Spire has an excellent track record of successful applications.
  • The Code for Sustainable Homes
This code is a mandatory requirement for all newly built sustainable homes. Our service and accredited products can help measure sustainability ratings including CO2 emissions.
  • Planning permission
Revolves around simpler permitted development rights for consumers and businesses for introducing certain renewable energy technologies across the UK.
  • The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP)
Recognises MCS assured products that are eligible for inclusion in the Standard Assessment Procedure for energy ratings.
